The Movie

A holiday film set in St. Thomas and Elgin County. The story is carried by narration, so you do not have to act. You walk, you smile, you drink a coffee. Fifteen seconds at a time, you are in the movie.

Episodes

Filmed at the tree lighting on 13 November. Episode one drops 16 November, then one a week through the season.

Your cut

This is your version of the film. The narration and the scenes around you are already made. You fill the gaps, and the film renders with you in it.

How it works

You never have to act

Every episode is carried by a voiceover that is already recorded. Your scenes are walking, smiling, holding a cup, opening a door. One or two lines at most. That is the whole ask, and it is why ordinary people will actually do it.

Your scenes drop into a template

The film is a running order of scenes. Some are already shot. The rest are marked as yours, each with a length and a place. You upload a clip, it lands in that slot, and the narration carries straight over it.

Film it where the story happens

Each scene names a real place on the passport. You go there, you film your fifteen seconds, and you are in that shop anyway. That is the point for the business, and it is why they want to be in it.

Watch what is finished

You can watch up to the scenes released so far. Anything you have not filmed yet plays the original footage, so your film is always watchable, never broken.
